Hi there! I have been away from the blog sphere for so long, so many things happened...
I have so many subjects that I would like to share with you, it is hard to choose where to start.
I will start with a brief post about my political views in this country. I listen so much to NPR that it would be impossible to stay impassive through the campaign for the presidency of the USA, which is at the stage of choosing the candidate for each party.
Ola! Ja ha tanto tempo que nao escrevo no meu blog, tantas coisas aconteceram...
Tenho tantos temas para partilhar convosco, e dificil escolher por onde comecar.
Vou comecar com um post breve sobre as minhas ideias relativas a politica deste pais. Eu ouco a estacao publica de radio tanto que e impossivel ficar impavida e serena atraves da campanha para a presidencia dos EUA, que esta agora nafase de escolher o representante tde cada partido.
I am from a country where democracy arrived only in 1974, so I take seriously the right to information, our duty to get informed and our right to express our own ideas. I believe that the vote is the highest expression of freedom and responsibility in democracy. The freedom to choose the one who will best represent and fight for our interests and those of the country and the responsibility of making an informed choice.
Eu sou de um pais onde a democracia chegou so em 1974, por isso eu tomo seriamente o direito a informacao, o nosso dever de nos informarmos e o direito de exprimir as nossas proprias ideias e opinioes. Eu acredito que o voto e a mais alta expressao de liberdade e responsabilidade em democracia. A liberdade de escolher o candidato que melhor representa os nossos interesses e os do pais e a responsabilidade de fazer escolhas "informadas".
It certainly takes time and effort, specially because we need to filter all the publicity to obtain relevant information.
Requer tempo e esforco, especialmente devido aos jogos de publicidade.
I listen to NPR and search the Internet for information, including each candidate website.
Eu ouco o radio e procuro informacao na Internet.
Above all, it is important to keep relatively updated with the news, around the world.
Acima de tudo, acho que e importante mantermo-nos actualizados nas noticias sobre o que se passa no nosso Mundo.
And I went to listen to the candidate I believe will best lead this country to progress and good relations with the rest of the world.
Eu tambem fui ouvir o candidato que eu acredito ser o melhor para conduzir este pais para o progresso e para estabelecer boas relacoes com o resto do mundo.
